We are delighted to announce that in 2025, Night Cinema<\/strong> will return to Ida-Virumaa for the fourth summer in a row<\/strong>!
From August 8 to 29<\/strong>, Night Cinema will travel across the county, visiting both familiar and new locations. This year, we will begin in the park of M\u00e4etaguse Manor<\/strong>, then continue to Ahtme Central Square in Kohtla-J\u00e4rve<\/strong>, the lighthouse area in Narva-J\u00f5esuu<\/strong>, Kivi\u00f5li Central Square<\/strong>, and finally conclude the program on the steps of Mere Boulevard in Sillam\u00e4e<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s film evenings will focus mainly on Estonian films<\/strong>, with a special emphasis on water-themed stories<\/strong> \u2014 after all, Ida-Virumaa lies between three bodies of water<\/strong>.
Of course, we\u2019re also proud of the achievements of our southern neighbors and will be screening the animated film “Flowing On”<\/strong> on two evenings \u2014 the first to bring them both a Golden Globe<\/strong> and an Oscar<\/strong> in the animation category.<\/p>\n

In addition, the program will pay tribute to sports<\/strong>, as Tallinn is the European Capital of Sport 2025<\/strong>.
We\u2019ll be screening the brand-new documentary “Anett”<\/strong>, about the life of Estonian tennis star Anett Kontaveit<\/strong>.
For fans of classic cinema, we\u2019ve included the legendary sports drama “Playful Curves”<\/strong>, directed by Kaljo Kiisk<\/strong>, who hails from Ida-Virumaa.<\/p>\n

Alongside the classics, we\u2019ve added one of the most significant new-generation Estonian films of 2024 \u2014 the moving drama “Fr\u00e4nk”<\/strong> by T\u00f5nis Pill<\/strong>, which has already attracted over 100,000 viewers<\/strong> and sparked important conversations about painful yet vital issues in our society.<\/p>\n

We warmly invite all film lovers to join us again \u2014 let\u2019s enjoy films together on the magical summer nights of Ida-Virumaa!
Each screening will be preceded by a traditional quiz<\/strong> with symbolic prizes.<\/p>\n
